The STSW Mentor Program provides a framework for experienced transplant and MCS social workers to assist and advance social workers coming into this very specialized field.  The Society believes that a strong mentor program will reinforce the mission of our organization “to inspire and support our members as we: make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families; connect with and motivate each other; promote professional growth; collaborate to advance social work in our field.”  Membership with STSW is required to participate in this program.

The program is designed to allow mentees to review mentor profiles online and request 2-3 potential mentors.  The Mentor Program Committee will review all mentor and mentee applications received and appropriately match mentors and mentees.

More information on the STSW Mentor Program is available on our website at – http://stsw.wildapricot.org/Mentor-program

STSW offers the following credentials: Certified Clinical Transplant Social Worker (CCTSW) and Certified Clinical Social Worker – Mechanical Circulatory Support (CCSW-MCS).  Clinicians who work in both transplant and mechanical circulatory support are eligible for a dual credential (CCTSW-MCS).  All credentials are valid for three years after which recertification is necessary to maintain the credential.  Membership with STSW is required for credentialing.

The purpose of the credentials offered by STSW are:
