Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA)
COTA Facts for Transplant Patients
When a transplant family partners with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association or COTA, a lifetime of support begins as they navigate their specific transplant journey. Here are some distinctive benefits each COTA family receives:
Lifetime of Support
When a transplant family partners with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, a lifetime journey begins. COTA's fundraising campaigns for transplant patients raise money that is available for transplant-related expenses, including expenses incurred from other related diagnoses … for a lifetime.
Online Fundraising for Transplant Patients
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association provides free websites to enhance fundraising. COTA does not charge a percentage of proceeds that are raised, as do most crowdfunding sites. Funds raised in honor of COTA transplant patients are not considered income and do not jeopardize any assistance program families may qualify for.
Services Provided at No Cost
The Children's Organ Transplant Association does not charge for its services. 100% of funds raised in honor of patients are available for transplant-related expenses.
Volunteer Training and Support Program
With more than three decades of experience, the Children’s Organ Transplant Association has the expertise to help volunteers be successful. COTA provides ongoing support to community campaign volunteers and transplant patient families.
Funds Available for Transplant-Related Expenses, Including Transplant Donor Expenses
100% of the funds raised through the Children’s Organ Transplant Association in honor of patients are available for transplant-related expenses before, during and after the transplant. Tissue and organ donors’ expenses may be submitted for allocation.
Ongoing Support Before, During and After the Community Campaign
Throughout the community fundraising campaign, the Children’s Organ Transplant Association provides printed and web-based materials, telephone support and websites that are free of charge.
Funds Raised Are Not Taxable and Will Not Jeopardize Assistance Programs
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association is the owner and administrator of all funds; transplant families are not taxed on these funds, nor do these funds jeopardize assistance program participation.
Administrator of the Funds and Nonprofit Status
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association is a national, nonprofit organization. COTA is responsible for fundraising campaign oversight, and serves as owner and administrator of funds raised.
Transplant Family Focused
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association is the largest national fundraising organization solely dedicated to assisting and supporting transplant families. COTA is available 24-hours-a-day to assist with medical emergencies.
Quick Processing of Transplant-Related Submissions
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association offers several services to facilitate rapid processing of transplant family grant requests including online submission, direct deposit of allocated funds and weekly processing.
Direct Payment for Transplant-Related Services
By paying providers directly for transplant-related travel and medical expenses, the Children’s Organ Transplant Association alleviates this burden and stress for transplant patients and families.
Let COTA know how we can help your transplant families – for a lifetime!
